Partnership for Children: Public Awareness Workgroup

The Public Awareness Work Group is charged with developing public awareness and advocacy strategies that address priority areas established by the Partnership.  For their work, the Partnership has defined public awareness as general community knowledge of child and family issues; also awareness of Partnership Agency services and resources.  The Work Group is further charged with making recommendations to the full Partnership regarding those decisions that have broad or significant impact or implications and reporting to the Partnership on a regular basis about the Work Group’s progress and accomplishment of tasks within agreed upon timelines.

Specifically, the Public Awareness Work Group will collaborate to:

  • Coordinate the public awareness activities provided by partner agencies (consistent with agency and/or program requirements).
  • Develop public awareness and advocacy strategies that address priority issues or gaps in service as identified by the Partnership.
  • Formulate a recommended implementation plan to be shared with the Partnership at designated times for discussion and approval.
  • Identify the resources necessary to implement the developed strategies.
  • Design an evaluation process for measuring the effectiveness of the strategy in coordination with the Data Management Work Group.

As a result of its actions, the Public Awareness Work Group will increase the effectiveness of the Partnership’s public awareness and advocacy activities and strengthen its efforts to address its priority issues.

Projects/Activities:  Radio commercials, PSAs, PFC brochures/posters, DVDs/VHSs for community and partner agency waiting rooms, increased linking among PFC agency websites, orientation/training to PFC agencies for new staff.
