Partnership for Children: Family Support Workgroup

The Family Support Work Group is charged with developing family support strategies that address priority areas established by the Partnership.  For their work, the Partnership has defined family support as individualized, intensive support of families.  The Work Group is further charged with making recommendations to the full Partnership regarding those decisions that have broad or significant impact or implications and reporting to the Partnership on a regular basis about the Work Group’s progress and accomplishment of tasks within agreed upon timelines.

Specifically, the Family Support Work Group will collaborate to:

  • Coordinate the family support services provided by partner agencies (consistent with agency and/or program requirements).
  • Develop family support strategies that address the priority issues or gaps in service as identified by the Partnership.
  • Formulate a recommended implementation plan to be shared with the Partnership at designated times for discussion and approval.
  • Identify the resources necessary to implement the developed strategies.
  • Design an evaluation process for measuring the effectiveness of the strategy in coordination with the Data Management Work Group.

As a result of its actions, the Family Support Work Group will increase the effectiveness of the Partnership’s family support services and strengthen its efforts to address its priority issues.

Projects/Activities:  Literacy Kits, Home Visitor Resource Boxes, Brown Bag Lunch Trainings, prenatal care priority, foster care reunification, obtaining parent input.
