CHARGE
To create a collaborative youth development network that increases the capacity of community agencies and organizations to provide prevention and intervention services and activities to all youth.
OBJECTIVES
1. Referral Network: Develop a seamless referral network that refers all youth that need services/activities to the appropriate services, sometimes on an agency-to-agency basis.
2. Information Sharing: Provide opportunities for service providers to share information about the services/activities they provide.
3. Educating the Community: Educate the community about the YDN and the need for positive youth development activities.
4. Engagement of Youth: Identify, engage and sustain youth in positive activities.
THE REFERRAL NETWORK (1-800-YDN-2021)
The YDN Referral Network is a free local hotline that will help youth get connected to local resources. It is available between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with trained staff and volunteers who will respond to the calls. We will help callers get connected to the many activities and services available in the Charlottesville/Albemarle community.
Contact Ann Emery or Rebecca Sayre, the Youth Development Coordinators at 243-7923 or ydn at albemarle.org for more information.
YOUTH ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
Neighborhood outreach designed to educate and engage youth about local activities and services will be held in various neighborhoods between September 10th and 18th. Please click here for details.
