FREE Netsmartz Internet safety workshop!

Learn how to keep parents, kids, and teens safer on the internet.
The internet safety workshop will take place on Thursday, June 29th, 2006 at
Charlottesville
High School
. This is a FREE event open to adults and children school age and up. The workshop will be from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and refreshments will be served. Parents and kids will have separate sessions, the adult session will be about 90 minutes, less time for the kids with games at the end.
The Internet Safety workshop with Netsmartz teaches parents and children about the dangers of internet use and increases safety awareness for whenever you go online. Netsmartz uses 3D technology and interactive games to teach kids of all ages rules and guidelines to use the internet safely. Netsmartz also educates adults on how to better monitor children’s online activities.
Along with the Netsmartz program there will be a short talk on prevalent internet safety threats to children, such as MySpace. There will also be information on who you can call to report suspicious activity on the internet.
