About the Community Relations Advisory Team

Charge
To develop a comprehensive communication and outreach plan for the Commission that speaks to CCF retreat priorities, including getting information out to priority audiences and advertising availability of data, research, and resource information.

Desired Outcome
To facilitate and expand the exchange of information, ideas, data and solutions between CCF and the community.

Specific Tasks
· Develop strategic communications plan and present to CCF.

· Expand outreach to target populations including minorities, youth, and low-income groups.

Step One: Establish target populations

Step Two: Develop a key message packet that speaks to each target population.

Step Three: Modify CCF outreach materials for each target population.

· Create a CCF Speaker’s Bureau in which volunteers and Commission members will communicate CCF’s message by speaking to various community groups. The workgroup will create a format that makes it simple for Commission members to participate. Commission members will be tasked to speak to groups familiar to them.

· Develop new outreach tools including a CCF brochure and a presentation/display board to be used at to communicate CCF’s mission and available resources. The workgroup will also generate a list of community events that CCF could attend.

· Create and publish a “State of the Child and Family” community report to focus on Charlottesville and Albemarle.
